The peak of activities in The Redeemed Christian Church of God yearly calendar is the Holy Ghost congress, an all week programme which attracts millions of people in the time of praise and worship, ministration and uplifting in the presence of God at the Redemption Camp, Lagos Nigeria.

Pastor Adeboye is an elder state man, an epitome of godliness and humility, a good ambassador of Christ in character and deeds, a spiritual father to millions of people all over the world and a visionary leader whose vision for the church is to have a member of The Redeemed Christian Church of God in every family of the world by planting churches all over the world  where people can be disciple in the fear of the Lord.

At his side, in all season is Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye, his wife who unarguably supports and compliments her husband efforts and has distinguished herself as a role model to other women. And their marriage is blessed with four children.

   Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye fondly called “Daddy G.O.” was born on 2nd March,1942. He holds a PHD degree in Applied Mathematics. He joined The Redeemed Christian Church of God in 1973, as a lecturer searching for a solution to a personal problem.

Having experienced the presence and the visibility of God’s power in an unusual manner in a place considered not suitable for the educated to worship, he gave his life to Jesus Christ and served (and he is still serving) him with great passion, dedication and commitments.

He took over the mantle of leadership as General Overseer of the church in 1981 and subsequently introduced the “Model Parishes” which brought an expansion and immense growth to the church as the number of parishes continues to increase. As at today, there are about 6,000 parishes in all the continents of the world to the glory of God.
